Golden Milk

The pre-mix of spices

NOTE: This is mixed in advance to use later in recipe

  • 4 Tbsp Tumeric
  • 1 Tbsp Ground Cardamum
  • 1 Tbsp Ground Cinnamon
  • 1 tsp Black Pepper (very finely ground, or powder is best)

Place all in a small sealable container and shake well to incorporate. Store in a cool dry place and use as desired.

Recipe for Golden Milk

  • 12 oz Milk (we use 1/2 Silk Almond Milk original, and 1/2 Kroger Lactose free whole milk)
  • 1 tsp of spice mix, per 12 oz portion
  • 1 Tbsp Honey, Raw, unfiltered

In a sauce pan, or in the microwave heat up the milk to hot coffee temperature (190 degrees or so).
While the milk is heating, place the 1 tsp of spice mix in a coffee mug that can hold 12 oz, add the 1 Tbsp of honey.
When the milk is fully heated, pour over the spice and honey, and stir well.
Stir occasionally as you drink to keep the spices suspended in the liquid.

NOTE:

For two people, I use one of my 12 oz coffee cups and fill it to 1/4 inch from the top with the Almond milk,
and pour it out into a sauce pan. I then fill up the same cup with the the Lactose free whole milk,
and pour it out into the pan.
I set the heat on medium amd stir it while I get the cups ready.
Setting both empty cups on the counter top, I place 1 tsp of spice mix into each one,
along with 1 Tbsp of honey.
When the milk is heated, I split the hot milk into each cup by using a ladle or by carefully pouring.
